GWcycles – Cycling for the Seas

Fourth GWcycles campaign sets new record with over a million kilometers cycled by the Gebrüder Weiss community

The fourth edition of Gebrüder Weiss’s international cycling initiative, GWcycles, successfully came to a close at the end of October. With the motto "Cycling for the Seas," the company's global cycling community spent seven months pedaling for a good cause. A total of 786 enthusiastic participants covered more than one million kilometers. The campaign once again supported an environmental initiative through a new partnership with CleanHub, which will remove ten metric tons of plastic waste from rivers and coastal regions in Southeast Asia by the end of the year.

A joint effort for our oceans

The repeated success of the GWcycles campaign is based on the strong commitment of the Gebrüder Weiss cycling community. This year, 786 cyclists from around the world helped reach the impressive one million kilometer milestone. The submitted photos clearly show that sustainable mobility is fun – and international.

Kristian Buljan (krishatbockaufrad) from Germany won this year's GWcycles winner's jersey by cycling an impressive 19,022 kilometers. As part of the event, all participants had the chance to win attractive prizes by completing various challenges. Additionally, one of the top 300 participants will win a gravel bike in a raffle.

Our project partner CleanHub

CleanHub was founded in 2020 and is a Berlin-based company providing a scalable solution to plastic pollution. The organization connects coastal communities to proper waste collection systems where none previously existed, creating safe and dignified jobs for local workers.

Businesses can support this mission by funding the collection of waste that would otherwise go uncollected. CleanHub’s AI-powered technology tracks the entire process — from collection to final disposal — ensuring full transparency. The company is certified by TÜV SÜD in accordance with ISO standards. You can find more information about Cleanhub here.
